Address and Contact Information Changes

Student address and contact information can be changed through MyUCLA. Students are required to keep their UCLA mailing address, e-mail address, and mobile telephone number up to date. Keeping information current ensures that students can be reached through the BruinAlert emergency notification system. To make changes, use the My Contact Information feature in MyUCLA Settings. Address and contact information changes are updated in real time.

Legal Name Change

An official request and proof of new legal name are required to change a student name on official records. A student’s legal name cannot be changed without an official request from that student. No second-party notification of a legal name change is accepted. To change their name on official University records, a student must submit a Legal Name Change or Correction request. To appear on the diploma, a legal name change must be submitted by the last day of the degree-expected term. There is no…

Lived and Legal Names

A student’s lived name can appear on many records. A student’s legal name is retained for some uses. Lived Name The lived name is the primary student name used by UCLA. If a lived name is not established when the student applies to UCLA, the legal name is used as the student lived name. The MyUCLA Lived and Legal Names feature can be used to view and update the student lived name at any time. Academic Transcript Format

A printed academic transcript presents course, unit, grade, and degree information on security paper. An electronic academic transcript presents this information in a secure PDF file. The academic transcript includes all courses taken, transfer credit, units, grades, grade-point average (GPA), and earned UCLA degrees. An unofficial (student copy) transcript is available through MyUCLA. An unofficial transcript (student copy) is available for no charge through MyUCLA. The unofficial transcript is printed on plain paper and does not carry the Registrar’s seal.
