New European Languages and Transcultural Studies department
Effective fall 2021, the departments of French and Francophone Studies, Germanic Languages, andItalian—and the Scandinavian Section—merge to become the department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies (ELTS).
Juneteenth observed as UC holiday
The University of California will observe Juneteenth—a day recognizing and celebrating the end of slavery in the U.S.—as a universitywide holiday. This year UC will observe the holiday on Monday, June 28. See the UC announcement for details.
Fall 2021 Schedule of Classes
The fall quarter 2021 Schedule of Classes publication date has been moved to June 7, 2021.
Effective spring 2021, the master’s degree in applied economics is renamed Master of Quantitative Economics (MQE).
Effective spring 2021, the Health Policy and Management department offers an online Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree.
Chicana and Chicano Studies department name change
Effective winter 2021, the César E. Chávez Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies department name changes to César E. Chávez Department of Chicana and Chicano and Central American Studies. The change makes visible the department's established approach to research, teaching, and advocacy about Central American people and cultures.
