Students Not Attending Spring Quarter

Students not attending UCLA for spring quarter 2021 may: declare nonattendance, if fees aren’t paid; cancel registration before March 29 (paid fee refund); or withdraw after March 29, if fees are paid. See the Registrar FAQ for details.

Applied economics degree name change

Effective spring 2021, the master’s degree in applied economics is renamed Master of Quanitative Economics (MQE).

Students not attending winter quarter

Students not attending UCLA for winter quarter 2021 may: declare nonattendance, if fees aren’t paid; cancel registration before January 4 (paid fee refund); or withdraw after January 4, if fees are paid. See the Registrar FAQ for details.

New health care master’s degree

Effective spring 2021, the Health Policy and Management department offers an online Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree.

New dual MURP degree

Effective fall 2020, the Urban Planning department offers a dual Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree with the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.

Registrar virtual hours

Get answers and information from the Registrar’s Office by visiting virtually through Zoom. Virtual hours are M-F 10-12 and 1-3, except holidays.

Registrar service update

As of March 20, the UCLA Registrar’s walk-up service windows remain closed and all telephone services are suspended. Registrar services are available online and/or through the Message Center.

Chicana and Chicano Studies department name change

Effective winter 2021, the César E. Chávez Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies department name changes to César E. Chávez Department of Chicana and Chicano and Central American Studies. The change makes visible the department's established approach to research, teaching, and advocacy about Central American people and cultures.

New Brain and Behavioral Health minor

Effective fall 2020, the College Life Sciences division offers a new minor in Brain and Behavioral Health. In partnership with the Semel Institute, the minor covers translational science; basic brain science; contextual conditions; and programs, policies, and their evaluation.

New Pilipino Studies minor

Effective fall 2020, Asian American Studies department offers a new minor in Pilipino Studies. Covering literary studies, global health, global migration, international labor, performance studies, American Studies, and California Studies.

New MAGIST degree

Effective fall 2020, the Geography department offers an online Master of Applied Geospatial Information Systems and Technologies degree.

New Master of Engineering program

Effective fall 2020, the School of Engineering's Master of Engineering program becomes a self-supporting, 1-year, full-time program.

Registrar service windows closed; office open for business

Effective Thursday, March 19, 2020, the UCLA Registrar’s walk-up service windows are closed. Service is available by phone and e-mail, and through the Message Center. See the Registrar COVID-19 FAQ for more information.

UCLA in-person classes suspended; classes and exams now online

Effective March 11, 2020, UCLA in-person classes are suspended, and have transitioned to online platforms through spring quarter. Winter quarter final exams will be given remotely. See the UCLA Newsroom campus community COVID-19 information web page for more information.

New Genetic Counseling MS

Effective fall 2020, the David Geffen School of Medicine offers a master’s degree in Genetic Counseling.

New Legal Studies MLS

Effective fall 2020, this Law School self-supporting degree program offers nonlawyer professionals a graduate-level understanding of law and how it affects society.
