Undergraduates who intend to complete degree requirements while nonregistered must file for in absentia graduation.
A student who intends to complete degree requirements while nonregistered (take a course through UCLA Extension or at another institution, remove an Incomplete grade, etc.) must file a Request to Graduate In Absentia with the degree auditor by the candidacy deadline (Friday of the second week of classes).
In addition to the declaration of candidacy fee, a student graduating in absentia who was not registered in the term immediately prior to the degree-expected term is also assessed the undergraduate in absentia degree-processing fee. Fees are processed through the student’s BruinBill account.
Submission
Students should submit the completed request form, in person or by mail, to a degree auditor in the Registrar’s Office.
