Students may specify their gender recognition information on MyUCLA.
Students may indicate their gender identity, sexual orientation, and personal pronouns through MyUCLA. Providing this information is optional.
UCLA uses gender recognition data to target resources and student services such as scholarships, support services, and themed housing. This data also enables UCLA to develop curricular and co-curricular offerings that reflect diverse perspectives, and that promote a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students.
Collection of personal pronoun data allows UCLA to supply faculty, staff, and administration (in certain circumstances) with the information needed to address each student appropriately.
Certain federal and health-related reporting standards require universities to attribute a female or male identifier to students when reporting gender-related data.
