Programmer Analyst
Perform systems analysis and application development for a university student affairs division; elicit requirements using interviews, business process descriptions, use case scenarios, business and system process analysis, and task and workflow analysis; gather business requirements in collaboration with developers and subject matter experts; create and maintain business analysis artifacts, including wireframes, use cases, traceability matrix, and process models; provide oversight for web-based student applications with respect to functionality and overall design; develop and run reports, queries, stored procedures, views, SSIS jobs and other SQL Server database objects for student records databases; provide day-to-day operational system support of student information systems, including the Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS), student records, financial aid, and other data systems; ensure compliance with university policies and government laws and regulations; participate in the analysis and resolution of operational system production problems and maintenance of systems, including testing, debugging, and troubleshooting; ensure the accuracy of data and content, and document processes and procedures for ensuring accuracy; utilize SQL as part of performing project development, change requests, and operation and production support and trouble shooting.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in management information system, business administration, computer science or a related field. Two years of experience in job offered or as a business analyst or a related occupational title. Experience managing operational application systems that are web-based, mainframe-based, and desktop-based including vendor bought application systems AdAstra Platinum analytics, ALEKS Math Diagnostic Placement Score Feed; experience in IT project management; experience in defining test plans as part of testing and fixing bugs for new and updated applications and processes; demonstrated knowledge of SQL, SQL objects, SQL Server, .Net, Visual Basic, VB Script, VBA, ASP, and JavaScript; experience with prototyping and designing user interface solutions for user problems; demonstrated knowledge of user interface design patterns; demonstrated ability to use tools to wireframe and prototype user interfaces; demonstrated knowledge of business analysis methodologies including developing business analysis artifacts including wireframes, use cases, traceability matrices, and process models; experience writing reports, proposals, instructional and technical documentation, and technical reports concerning feasibility studies, systems requirements and designing processing requirements and programming specifications; demonstrated experience performing analysis of interactive systems and designing input documents, output reports and online screens; experience with MS Office Suite, Google Apps, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Visio, Axure, Adobe PDF, SQL Server Management Studio.
