Holds prevent students from accessing services at UCLA. They may be placed on student records for a variety of reasons and must be removed by the initiating office.
A student may have holds placed on the student record that could affect registration, enrollment, financial aid, campus services, and/or release of academic transcripts for the following reasons:
- Failure to comply with admission or academic provisions
- Failure to settle financial obligations with the University
- Failure to respond to official notices
A student who becomes subject to a hold action is given advance notice and ample time to respond. Holds must be released by the initiating office before a student can enroll in classes or receive various campus services. Obtain information on holds through MyUCLA.
